
The grin of satiety and luxuriously late slumber still on her face, she weaved around the tables with an over-full cup of coffee. Squinting in the late morning sun, she saw a lithe silhouette claim the empty seat across from him. The profile of his welcoming smile drove her to the nearest vacant table. She blinked back the shard of broken heart that had worked its way into her eye and her smile turned sad. She would just have to make do with whatever he had to offer.
